Trusted Thermador Repair In Amityville

Amityville is an incorporated village in Suffolk County, in Babylon in Long Island, New York. It had an estimated population of 9,523 residents, according to a 2010 census of the village.

Settlers from Huntington first visited Amityville in 1653 because of its proximity to a source of salt hay, which is used as animal fodder. Chief Wyandanch granted in 1658 the first deed of Amityville land.

Originally, the area was called Huntington West Neck South, now known as Babylon. The name was changed when residents established a local post office in 1846. The meeting turned into chaos according to lore, and a participant exclaimed, "What this meeting need is some amity."

Another version of the lore of Amitville's name states the name was suggested by mill owner Samuel Ireland after his boat, the Amity. The village was formally incorporated on March 3, 1894, and became a popular tourist destination in the 1900s, with large hotels by the bay and large houses.

Amityville was made even more popular when Jay Anson wrote The Amityville Horror. The book was published in 1977 and was adapted into a series of films. The book is based on a real murder case in November 1974 when Ronald DeFeo, Jr. shot dead all six of his family.

Despite being known for a horror story, Amityville is still a popular tourist destination. Residents are also known to prefer high-tech Thermador appliances for convenience and comfort, especially during extreme weather conditions.
